Kim Delaney is an American actor who is most well-known for her role as detective Diane Russell in ABCs series NYPD Blue for which she won the Emmy Award. She is best known for her part in All My Children Philly CSI: Miami, Army Wives. Delaney was the sole daughter of an United Auto Workers executive and his wife, who was a domestic worker. Her childhood was spent in a family with four other brothers. When she was a kid, Delaney dreamed of being a reporter for the court. She began modelling in high school and then gaining commercial roles when she moved into New York. Her first film role was as a teenage innocent on All My Children, a soap opera from 1981. Delaney was a talented young actress from the 1980s has appeared in several films TV movies as well as dramas. Personally, her professional has not been a success and has not been happy. She has also experienced two unsuccessful marriages and struggled with alcoholism. In 2005, she was denied custody of the only child she had.
